อินเดียได้พบกับพี่ชายของพ่อที่ขาดการติดต่อกันไปนาน ชาร์ลี (แมทธิว กู้ด) ที่มาร่วมงานศพอย่างไม่คาดฝัน เขาตัดสินใจพักอยู่กับเธอและแม่ของเธอที่มีอารมณ์แปรปรวน อีวี่ (นิโคล คิดแมน) ในช่วงแรกอินเดียหวาดระแวงในตัวลุงผู้ลึกลับ แต่ดูมีเสน่ห์ชวนหลงใหล เขาเองก็หลงเสน่ห์เธอเข้าเช่นกัน เธอเริ่มรู้ตัวว่าต่างฝ่ายต่างมีใจให้กันอย่างไร
